James Bay Community Project is a non-profit community organization helping seniors, youth and families by providing outreach services, community support and volunteer services.

JBCP shares its building with several tenants providing services to the community: James Bay Urgent and Primary Care Centre, LifeLabs, HerWay Home, and other independent providers of health services.

  • The James Bay Community Project will be closed from December 25, 2024 to January 1st, 2025 inclusive.
  • Our facility will re-open on January 2nd, 2025 – most of our programs will resume during the week of January 6th.

What’s happening at the Project: 

Older adults, seniors and elders with little to no experience with smart phones, tablets or laptops are encouraged to sign up for a digital literacy session. Free – advance registration required.
Increasing your comfort level with technology can help maintain your independence, as well as your connections with loved ones and health care providers for a better quality of life.

* CURRENT HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS *

Due to the Public Health Orders relating to COVID-19,  The Project has updated its safety plan in the following ways:
  • Please do not visit if you feel unwell or are experiencing any Covid-like symptoms.
  • Mask wearing: while it is now a personal choice, please continue to be kind and thoughtful towards others. Prior to meeting with others in our building, we ask that you discuss in advance your comfort level on mask wearing and to kindly respect each others’ preferences.
  • The limits on the number of people permitted in various spaces in our building are removed.
  • Access to our programs is by pre-registration only. Proof of vaccination is still mandatory for program participation.
  • Visitors to our building will no longer be required to exit the building using the back door, they can exit through the front doors.
